Initiatives for Children
Mori Juku offers personalized tutoring, carefully designed for each student’s needs while providing reliable tuition, and Sora Juku is an online tutoring service that allows students to attend classes with just a smartphone, no matter where they live. We offer educational opportunities that close the education gap based on each family’s income and area of residence, and create an environment where every child can learn in their own way while improving their grades.
Closing the education gap caused by economic disparities by providing reliable tuition and quality tutoring
Our goal is to reduce the number of children who cannot afford to attend tutoring classes due to high tuition costs. Mori Juku, a private tutoring school, has introduced a system that guarantees a +20 point school grade in each subject while offering reasonable tuition. In addition, our system of “a maximum of two students per teacher” allows us to provide high quality individual tutoring that is carefully tailored to each student’s abilities and personality. In the unlikely event that customers are not satisfied with their course, we provide a full refund. We provide better educational opportunities for as many children as possible, regardless of the economic disparity between families. This has been our mission since our founding.
Closing the education gap caused by regional differences through online tutoring
Sora Juku is an online version of the personal tutoring system that we have developed over many years at Mori Juku. The main feature of Sora Juku is that students can take classes from the comfort of their own home using their smartphone or tablet, with the same quality as face-to-face classes, regardless of location. Sora Juku makes it possible to eliminate the differences in teacher quality that occur in different areas. In addition, Sora Juku helps close the education gap by providing high quality learning opportunities for children living on remote islands or mountains where there are no tutoring classes.
Using advanced research and technology to close the education gap in Japan and around the world
"The international Test of Fundamental Academic Skills TOFAS", which was researched and developed from a scientific perspective, is an international online test that fully supports the establishment of basic academic skills of children around the world and their future potential and growth, with more than 7.5 million children from 51 countries taking the test in 2024. Developed in partnership with the University of Tokyo’s Matsuo Lab, [DOJO] offers tablet-based learning and weekly face-to-face tutoring using the latest AI, providing highly accurate AI-based learning content and direct tutoring from teachers, while keeping tuition affordable and accessible to all. At Sprix, our goal is to contribute to closing the education gap in Japan and around the world through advanced research, testing, and content using data and technology.
Closing the gap in IT education through programming learning and our testing business
Sprix has established the Programming Research Institute in association with CyberAgent Inc. In addition to promoting programming education, we are developing and implementing programming proficiency tests to measure the programming knowledge and skills of elementary, middle, and high school students. Through a joint venture with CA Tech Kids Inc., we established the company QUREO to develop the QUREO Programming School for elementary school students throughout Japan. Through its programming skills test and programming school, Sprix is helping to close the gap in IT education and develop the IT human resources that are expected to be in short supply in the future.
Initiatives for Schools and
Tutoring Schools Across Japan
Sprix provides JUGYO JUNBI NET, one of the largest teacher websites in Japan, which streamlines lesson preparation for school teachers while offering various tools that support the effective management and operation of tutoring schools, from administrative tasks to learning assessment and attendance management for students and teachers. By implementing DX (Digital Transformation) in schools and tutoring schools, we contribute to improving teachers’ and instructors’ job comfort and job satisfaction. Through various initiatives in schools and tutoring schools across Japan, we are working to create a better educational environment and close the gaps in children’s education.
Using the latest technology to make teachers’ jobs easier and help women take an active role
Using the latest AI tablets and tutoring from full-time teachers, the Independent Learning RED helps students to learn independently and enables one or two teachers to teach 20 to 40 students, making it possible to operate tutoring schools at low cost. In the past, tutoring schools were difficult places to work, especially for women, due to late hours, but the Independent Learning RED realizes efficient classroom management and helps make teachers’ jobs easier. Today, many women are working in classrooms across Japan.
A consistent supply of high-quality education based on a scientific approach to tutoring materials
The Foresta series of educational materials for tutoring classes was designed to improve student performance based on feedback from school students. They are based on a comprehensive analysis of the actual classes at Mori Juku and regular tests collected from all over Japan. Differences in teaching methods based on the ability of the teacher has been eliminated by “packaging” the educational know-how. The Foresta series, which makes it possible to provide a high level of learning for a wider range of students on a stable basis, is used in tutoring classes throughout Japan and contributes to improving the performance of students nationwide.
Backup tools specifically designed for tutoring schools to improve operational efficiency and educational quality
Foresta Database systematizes the complex work of assigning classes and invoicing that is unique to individual tutoring, Foresta Goku digitizes class progress management, and Foresta Attendance Book simplifies labor management such as teacher work status and payroll. The Foresta series is based on Sprix’s expertise in managing individual tutoring classes and provides strong backup support for their smooth management. By achieving efficient and less wasteful tutoring class management, an environment is maintained where teachers can focus better on fundamental education, contributing to improving the quality of education.
Facilitating the sharing of know-how among teachers nationwide, helping them to prepare lessons more effectively.
JUGYO JUNBI NET is one of the largest websites for teachers in Japan, and was opened with the concept of “helping teachers prepare their lessons more effectively.” It is a platform enabled by AI technology that processes a large amount of copyrighted material and helps teachers prepare lessons more effectively by sharing practical information and knowledge, such as lesson plans and examples of what to write on the whiteboard. All content is available by signing up for free as a member. JUGYO JUNBI NET helps teachers across Japan prepare and teach lessons, contributing to the achievement of high quality teaching and learning.

Other Initiatives
Development of educational materials with a reduced environmental impact in mind
Sprix develops and markets tutoring teaching materials for elementary and junior high school students, and publishes and produces Chinese language education, as well as many other educational materials that require printing. For our Foresta tutoring materials, we use environmentally friendly paper and vegetable inks to reduce our impact on the environment.
Protecting the safety and security of children and teachers
To protect the safety of the students and teachers at our tutoring classes and to prevent the spread of coronavirus, we require our teachers to take a temperature test before coming to work and we thoroughly disinfect classrooms with alcohol.
We also experienced the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake that occurred on October 23, 2004, while staying in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, where our company was founded. To ensure that students attending our tutoring schools can return home safely, we have developed an Earthquake Emergency Handbook, which we do a read-through every year on October 23, the day of the earthquake, to share our experiences.

Contributing to our Founding Location by Not Moving our Headquarters
We have a deep sense of gratitude to Nagaoka City in Niigata Prefecture, where Sprix was founded. Torasaburo Kobayashi, a samurai of the Nagaoka clan in the early Meiji period, said, “If you eat a hundred bags of rice, they will soon disappear, but if you use them for education, they will become tomorrow’s ten thousand or a million bags,” and we still adhere to this “spirit of a million bags of rice.” Although we have expanded throughout Japan, we are still headquartered in Nagaoka because we want to continue to be grateful to the city of Nagaoka for nurturing and loving us from the very beginning of our company. We also co-sponsor Nagaoka Fireworks, one of Japan's three major fireworks festivals.
Special Member of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra
Cultural maturity is indispensable for the further development of society. We are a special member of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and support its performances.
