TOFAS (Test of Fundamental Academic Skills) is a test that evaluates basic academic skills, which are the foundation of all academic abilities. Basic academic skills are assessed by answering questions at levels 1 to 4 in the areas of calculation, which is the foundation of math and arithmetic, and English vocabulary, which is the foundation of English. Feedback is provided on areas where there is room for improvement, so that the student can accurately understand his or her current situation, which can lead to the establishment of basic academic skills and study plans for the future. The test can be taken using a PC or tablet. Because the test is administered in multiple countries including Japan and the US, the level of basic academic skills can be compared on a global level, making it effective as a measure for the globalization of education that will be increasingly required in the future.

This certification test measures the programming knowledge and skills of elementary, middle, and high school students in order to prepare them for programming, which will become a compulsory subject in high schools from AY 2022 and will be a subject of the standard test for university admissions in AY 2024. By objectively analyzing and evaluating the level of understanding of programming concepts, it is possible to gain a detailed understanding of abilities, clarify the results of previous learning, and link this to effective learning in the future. The examination consists of six levels. With over 875 locations in 118 countries and regions, the HSK certification is the official global standard for Chinese language proficiency.
